Year 12/13 Academic Pathway – A levels
A levels are now fully linear, with students sitting their exams at the end of the two-year course. Students with very good GCSE grades (Grades 6 and above in key subjects) will be able to undertake this academic pathway to complete A levels in:
A Core Mathematics Qualification is available for those not studying A Level Mathematics.
The most able mathematicians will also be able to study a course in ‘Further Mathematics’.
All Year 13 students will also be offered an option to undertake the Extended Project qualification.
Year 12/13 Vocational Pathways
If you have good GCSE grades (grades 4 and above in key subjects) you will be able to enrol on a vocational course:
- BTEC National Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3
- Teaching Assistant: Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools
If you do not have grades 4 and above in key subjects then you will study a BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate. This is a full-time one year course designed to prepare you for Level 3 study and includes re-sits in GCSE English and GCSE Mathematics (essential if a grade 4 has not already been achieved).
